Keeping Kids in School

During the 2011-12 school year, nearly 30 percent of all California public school students—more than 1.8 million—were truant. This week, Chief Justice Tani Cantil-Sakauye welcomes representatives from 32 counties to a two-day summit in Anaheim to kick off a signature initiative aimed to keep kids in school and out of court.
