CIP strives to ensure access to the courts for persons with limited English proficiency or those who are deaf or hard-of-hearing, by developing programs and practices that enhance the quality of interpretation and increase the availability of qualified interpreters in the courts.
Discount on the Written Exam Through First week of April, 2014
Effective January 17th, and through the first week of April, Prometric is offering a 10% discount on court interpreter written exams.
Annual Renewal and Compliance Period - Late Filing Period in Effect
All interpreters currently enrolled on the Judicial Council’s Master List of Certified Court Interpreters and Registered Interpreters who did not submit their annual renewal fees and/or compliance requirements by the December 31, 2013 deadline will be assessed a late filing fee of $50. Interpreters have until February 28, 2014 to submit the past due fee, late fee, and if applicable, compliance paperwork. Interpreters who continue to be out of compliance as of March 1, 2014, will be suspended, and their name removed from the Judicial Council’s Master List of Certified Court interpreters and Registered Interpreters. Bilingual Interpreting Exams: Exams will be administered January 28-30, 2014. Registration for the exam is currently open. The registration deadline has been extended to January 15, 2014.
