Commission on the Future of California’s Court System Holds Public Comment Session

December 8 session deals with judicial resources, fines and fees, and traffic infractions

SAN FRANCISCO—The Commission on the Future of California’s Court System will hold a public comment session Dec. 8 in San Francisco to seek input on making the court system more efficient and effective. Chief Justice Tani G. Cantil-Sakauye appointed commission members in February and charged them with making recommendations for system-wide efficiencies.

The session will focus on concepts related to judicial resources, fines and fees, and traffic infractions. Written comment is also invited.

The Dec. 8 public comment session will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., in the Malcolm M. Lucas Board Room of the Ronald M. George State Office Complex in San Francisco.

Additional public comment sessions are planned for January to obtain input on more of the commission’s proposals.

Comment Procedure
Members of the public may submit written comments on the proposals in advance or request to speak at the public comment session. For more information, view the comment procedures posted on the California Courts website.

The commission’s 18-to-24-month timeline includes surveys, public meetings, and invitations to comment on proposals.
