Strategic Communications Planning for the California Judicial Branch

The Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC) seeks the services of a consultant with expertise in strategic communications planning for government/public sector organizations to assist the AOC and the courts with creating and maintaining an effective communications infrastructure within the state judicial branch and with judicial branch stakeholders. The primary goals of the assignment are to ensure the efficient administration of justice in the state by:

  • Developing the infrastructure for timely and accurate exchange of information within the judicial branch: that is, from the Judicial Council/Advisory Committees/AOC to the courts; from the courts to the Judicial Council/Advisory Committees/AOC; and among the courts.
  • Establishing protocols for maintaining productive relationships with judicial branch stakeholders. Primary stakeholders include sister branches of government (the Governor/Executive Branch and the Legislature) and law and justice partners (attorneys, local law enforcement, social service agencies, other legal service providers). While the courts' relationships with constituents and particularly jurors, are crucial to the successful operation of the court system, public education is outside the scope of this assignment.
