Butte County Superior Court Judge Robert A. Glusman became the 82nd president of the California Judges Association (CJA) in June 2013. As president of the CJA, Judge Glusman has a one-year advisory seat on the council, replacing past CJA president, Sonoma County Superior Court Judge Alan Hardcastle. Judge Glusman became a member of the CJA ethics committee in 2007 and will complete his second three-year term in October 2013.
Judge Glusman was appointed to the bench by Governor Davis in 2002. Since January 2012, he has been the Supervising Judge of the Civil and Probate divisions of the court and the site judge of the Chico Branch of the court. He was in private practice for twenty-five years, receiving his Certification as a Family Law Specialist from the State Bar of California in 1994.
As part of the Judicial Council’s efforts to increase communication and transparency and promote accountability, council members serve as liaisons to the 58 trial courts and to the major service units of the Judicial Council staff. Members with updates present their reports at Judicial Council meetings, bringing fresh perspectives on the issues and challenges facing the judicial branch.
