Annual Renewal and Compliance Period

Effective January 1, 2014, interpreters who did not submit their annual renewal fees and/or compliance requirements by the December 31, 2013 deadline were assessed a late filing fee of $50. Interpreters had until February 28, 2014 to submit the past due fee, late fee, and if applicable, compliance paperwork. Interpreters who continued to be out of compliance as of March 1, 2014, have been suspended, and their name removed from the Judicial Council’s Master List of Certified Court interpreters and Registered Interpreters. Interpreters have until June 30, 2014 to come into full compliance

  • All court interpreters currently enrolled on the Judicial Council’s Master List of Certified Court Interpreters and Registered Interpreters are required to submit the $100 annual renewal fee and must be received by December 31. Payments received between January 1 – February 28, will be assessed a $50 late fee.
  • Interpreters whose professional compliance period ends December 31, 2013 must also submit their completed continuing education compliance forms and the annual renewal fee and must be received by December 31, to avoid late fees.
  • The late filing period deadline is February 28. All fees and completed compliance forms must be received by the deadline date to avoid suspension and additional fees.
  • Effective March 1, interpreters who continue to remain out of compliance will be SUSPENDED and their names will be removed from the Judicial Council’s Master List until all compliance requirements have been met.
  • Suspended interpreters have until June 30 to come into compliance, and will be assessed an additional $250 reinstatement fee. All fees and completed compliance forms must be received by June 30.
  • Effective July 1, interpreters who continue to remain out of compliance will have their certification or registration status revoked and their name will be removed from the Judicial Council’s Master List of Certified and Registered Interpreters, will be required to take and pass all qualifying examinations currently in place and meet all enrollment requirements as required for new interpreters.
