Annual Renewal and Compliance Period

Certified and/or registered interpreters who did not fulfill Annual Renewal and/or continuing education requirements due December 31, 2014, were assessed a late fee and given until February 28, 2015 to come into full compliance.

Effective March 1, 2015, interpreters who continue to be non-compliant have been suspended and  have until June 30, 2015, to come into full compliance. All completed forms and fees, including late fees and the reinstatement fee must be received by June 30, 2015. Effective July 1, 2015, interpreters who remain out of compliance will have their certification and/or registration status revoked, and will be required to take  and pass the qualifying exams currently in place, as well as complete the full enrollment process. Interpreters whose status has been revoked may not  re-qualify under current reciprocity guidelines, even if they hold another California recognized court interpreter certification.

Official notification and Annual Renewal packets are e-mailed annually ( in September) to all interpreters currently enrolled on the Judicial Council’s Master List of Certified Court and Registered Interpreters. Please make sure that your e-mail address is current.
