Notice of Training for Mandatory Electronic Filing (WebEx Format)
In anticipation of mandatory electronic filing (e-Filing) in the Court of Appeal for the Fifth Appellate District (5th DCA), the court offered free training sessions to the legal community on December 4, 2014. Starting in 2015, all attorneys submitting documents for filing in any appeal or original proceeding with the 5th DCA must file electronically through an electronic filing system, known as TrueFiling, developed in partnership with the vendor ImageSoft, Inc. See Local Rule 8. The e-Filing system will allow electronic transmission of documents to the court on a 24 hour basis.
The Court will use the services of CourtCall for all telephonic appearances during oral argument, effective July 1, 2014
Effective July 1, 2014, any party appearing telephonically for oral argument shall use CourtCall. Parties must make reservations on CourtCall's website or by calling 1-866-582-6878 to schedule a telephonic appearance for oral argument.
The California Appellate Courts Case Information System provides case information for California Supreme Court and Court of Appeal cases. Case information is updated once an hour throughout the business day.
The 5th District is located in Fresno. Its jurisdiction is over the following counties: Fresno, Kern, Kings, Madera, Mariposa, Merced, Stanislaus, Tulare and Tuolumne. The Court has 10 justices and is not divided into divisions. READ MORE >>
