Appellate Court to Reenact Oral Argument in Westminster School District v. Mendez
Presiding Justice Manuel A. Ramirez today announced that the Court of Appeal, Fourth Appellate District, Division Two, will host the third Justice John G. Gabbert Historic Oral Argument and Lecture Series.

Division one is now accepting credit card payment.  Credit card payment for court fees will only be accepted in person or by phone.  The Court accepts Visa, MasterCard and Discover cards only.

Local Rule 5, Electronic Filing (Division One only)

Mandatory Electronic Filing
Division One will require mandatory e-Filing of all original proceedings, except as provided in subdivision (b) of this Court's Local Rule 5. A filing in electronic format will be accepted in lieu of any paper copies and will constitute the official record of the Court.

Voluntary Electronic Filing
Division One will accept motions through e-Filing. A filing in electronic format will be accepted in lieu of any paper copies and will constitute the official record of the Court.

Orange County’s Division Three of the Fourth Appellate District has launched a free self-help clinic for self represented litigants. The Orange County Civil Appellate Self Help Clinic will be held at the court on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month starting Wednesday May 13, 2015. The Fourth District Division One, along with other partners, has implemented a Civil Appellate Self-Help Workshop to offer legal information, education and assistance to self-represented litigants in civil appeals. There is no charge for this monthly workshop held the third Tuesday of each month.

The 4th District is unique in that it is divided into three geographical divisions.

  • Division One is located in San Diego and has jurisdiction over matters from Imperial and San Diego Counties.
  • Division Two is located in Riverside and has jurisdiction over matters from Inyo, Riverside, and San Bernardino Counties.
  • Division Three is located in Santa Ana and has jurisdiction over matters from Orange County
