Policy Coordination and Liaison Committee

Purpose:
Represents the Judicial Council’s position with other agencies and entities, such as the Legislature, the Governor’s Office, the State Bar of California, local government, local bar associations, and other court-related professional associations.

Previous Meetings

The Policy Coordination and Liaison Committee (PCLC) is an Internal Judicial Council Committee comprised of appellate court justices, superior court judges, court executives, and attorneys. The PCLC reports directly to the Judicial Council and members are appointed by the Chief Justice for a one-year term. The current membership term runs until Oct 1, 2015.

Committee Charge
Represents the Judicial Council’s position with other agencies and entities, such as the Legislature, the Governor’s Office, the State Bar of California, local government, local bar associations, and other court-related professional associations; reviews and makes recommendations on proposals for Judicial Council–sponsored legislation; reviews pending bills, determines positions consistent with the council’s previous policy decisions, and oversees advocacy for those positions.

The Governmental Affairs office maintains a chart showing the status of all legislation the Policy Coordination and Liaison Committee (PCLC) has taken a position on.  The status chart is updated after each PCLC meeting.
