Infraction Amnesty Program

Pursuant to Vehicle Code section 42008.7, a one-time Infraction Amnesty Program was offered for a six-month period, effective January 1 – June 30, 2012. All Adult and Juvenile vehicle and non-vehicle code violations where a delinquent fine or bail was due on or before January 1, 2009, were eligible for the Infraction Amnesty Program if they met the following criteria: the violation was an infraction filed with the court; the due date for payment of the fine or bail was on or before January 1, 2009; the defendant did not owe victim restitution on any case within the county; and there were no outstanding misdemeanor or felony warrants for the defendant within the county. On eligible citations, the defendant was allowed to pay 50 percent of the fine or bail balance in full satisfaction of the debt.

The program ended on June 30, 2012 and is no longer being offered.  The Administrative Office of the Courts is uncertain if legislation will be passed to authorize such an initiative in the future. For information on a specific citation, please contact the court in the county where the citation was issued.
