Webinar: Implementing PC 1001.80: Pretrial Diversion for California Veterans and Active Members of the United States Military

In 2014, SB 1227 authorized the creation of a pretrial diversion program when a member or former member of the United States Military is accused of a misdemeanor (PC 1001.80) and the defendant is suffering from sexual trauma, traumatic brain injury, post-traumatic stress disorder, substance abuse or mental health problems resulting from military service.


This webinar covered pretrial diversion for veterans and active members of the United States Military; duties and responsibilities of judges to consider pretrial diversion for misdemeanors and certain felonies; and procedures for handling these cases.
