Law Day 2016 marks the 50th anniversary of Miranda vs. Arizona
Law Day events are conducted each May 1 across the country to help youth and adults understand how law keeps us free and how our legal system strives to achieve justice. Every year since 1958 the president of the United States has issued a Law Day proclamation recognizing the importance of this day.
Each year, the American Bar Association coordinates the theme and message for Law Day and makes resources available to local schools, courts, libraries, community organizations, and educators interested in hosting their own event. The ABA's Law Day Planning Guide contains ideas for events big or small.
