Court Interpreters - Sonoma Superior Court

Language icon Project Name: Court Interpreters
Court: Sonoma Superior Court
   Links: Program Webpage

Overview/Program Description:

The court has an American Sign Language (ASL) interpreter on site every Tuesday. Courtroom clerks and clerks in other areas know to schedule ASL matters on Tuesdays, to the extent possible; when not possible, the court tries to batch ASL matters for other days and note the information on an Outlook Resource Calendar accessible by all clerks and judicial assistants. The deaf community in our region is also aware that an ASL interpreter is on site every Tuesday. We also have access to this interpreter via Video Remote Interpreting in case the matter can be handled via video conference. This program has been in existence for more than seven years.
