Access to Judicial Administrative Records

The AOC makes identifiable judicial administrative records available for inspection upon request unless the records are exempt from disclosure.

The Administrative Office of the Courts does not maintain criminal histories, records or documents related to specific cases filed in the Superior Courts of California. Contact the Superior Court in which the record was originally filed to get this information.

If you would like to request judicial administrative records maintained by the appellate courts, the Judicial Council, or the Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC), you are invited to submit a request by completing a Request for Judicial Administrative Records form and sending it by fax, e-mail or U.S. mail. Submitting a request in alternate formats may delay processing of your request. Individuals with disabilities may make requests in alternate formats.

Please note: the AOC does not maintain records or documents related to specific cases filed in the superior courts of California such as-

• Powers of attorney;
• Divorce decrees;
• Criminal records;
• Criminal case histories;
• Complaints, other pleadings or judgments;
• Traffic tickets; or
• Information on specific cases.
