Harnessing Stakeholder Feedback

The Judicial Council created a Joint Working Group for California’s Language Access Plan devoted to development of a statewide LAP. Harnessing the expertise of its members and extensive public and stakeholder feedback, the Joint Working Group has prepared a draft Strategic Plan for Language Access in the California Courts. Following the formal public comment process, the draft plan will be presented to the Judicial Council for its review and adoption.

The LAP will:

  • Identify existing efficiencies that can enhance language access for all LEP court users;
  • Design a strategy for developing the additional resources needed for full language access; and
  • Propose an incremental, multiyear approach to enhancing language access in the California courts.
