The Elkins Family Law Implementation Task Force (EFLITF) collaborates with related advisory groups and justice system partners on implementation of the Elkins Family Law Task Force recommendations through development of rules and forms, education, system improvements, and data collection. Development and revisions of rules and forms to accommodate these changes are in process.

Background Information
At the Judicial Council meeting on December 14, 2010, the Elkins Family Law Implementation Task Force presented its Interim Report highlighting its progress and the progress of the four working groups assigned to review the more than 200 recommendations developed by the EFLTF and identify ways to support or promote implementation. Efforts in each of these areas are described the Interim Report.
In response to the recommendations accepted by the Judicial Council at its April 23, 2010 meeting, then Chief Justice Ronald M. George appointed Justice Laurie D. Zelon to chair the Elkins Family Law Implementation Task Force effective July 1, 2010 through June 30, 2013.
At the direction of the Judicial Council, the Elkins Family Law Implementation Task Force (EFLITF) is focusing on implementation of the recommendations from the Elkins Family Law Task Force (EFLTF) accepted by the Judicial Council. In addition to providing the Judicial Council with recommendations on implementation, the task force's charge includes:
- Proposing rules of court, forms, and Judicial Council-sponsored legislation for the council and its internal committees to consider; and
- Coordinating implementation efforts where appropriate with the Trial Court Presiding Judges Advisory Committee, the Family and Juvenile Law Advisory Committee, and other related advisory groups; divisions of the Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC); and justice system partners.
The final report includes over 100 recommendations divided into five key areas. The work of the Task Force generated tremendous public input which contributed enormously to development of the final report.
