In August 2013, the Judicial Council adopted a resolution to declare December 4 "Keeping Kids in School and Out of Court Day." The resolution is a call to action for courts and communities in California. December 4 is the day of the Keeping Kids in School and Out of Court Summit, which will bring together judicial officers, educators, juvenile justice and child welfare professionals, and community leaders in addressing truancy and school discipline.
