Notice: The Traffic and Ticket Basics section is being updated to reflect changes to the California Rules of Court regarding infraction procedures concerning traffic bail, courtesy notices and ability-to-pay determinations. The Judicial Council adopted these changes effective January 1, 2017 and courts will implement them by May 1st.
