Mark P. Robinson was appointed to the Judicial Council in 2011 by the State Bar Board of Trustees as one of four lawyer representatives. Mr. Robinson is the senior partner in the Newport Beach law firm of Robinson Calcagnie Robinson Shapiro Davis, Inc. He has handled thousands of product liability cases in more than 20 states. Mr. Robinson is currently national president-elect of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA), as well as president of the Orange County Chapter of ABOTA. He is a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, and a member of the International Society of Barristers. In 1999, he was elected president of the Consumer Attorneys of California. He teaches Trial Advocacy at the University of California at Irvine School of Law. In 2008, Mr. Robinson was named Trial Lawyer of the Year by the California chapter of the America Board of Trial Advocates, and was also honored by the Anti-Defamation League with one of two jurisprudence awards in Orange County.
