Civic Learning Awards: Applications Now Being Accepted
Chief Justice Tani Cantil-Sakauye and California State Superintendent of Public Instruction Tom Torlakson invite California public high schools to submit applications for the 2013–2014 Civic Learning Awards. Cantil-Sakauye and a committee of civic leaders organized the Civic Learning California Summit to examine successes and barriers to increasing civic literacy in California. The event was filled to capacity and featured special guest U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O'Connor (Ret.).
