Electronic Filing Survey
The First District Court of Appeal needs your input! Electronic filing is the filing of an electronic document in lieu of a paper original and any required paper copies with the reviewing court.

Please Note: The Court does not require or need paper copies if documents are submitted through TrueFiling.

Pursuant to California Rules of Court, Rule 8.70 and Local Rule 16, as amended May 1, 2015, all filings in Civil, Criminal, Juvenile and Original proceedings must be made through the Court's electronic filing system (TrueFiling). The forms can be found in the Forms & Rules page.

Pursuant to Local Rule 16, Section L, self-represented parties may, but are not required to register for electronic filing, but must comply with this rule and the requirements of TrueFiling if they elect to register.

For Civil cases, filing your documents through e-Filing will satisfy the requirements for service on the Supreme Court under rule 8.212(c)(2).
