e-Submissions (Fourth Appellate District, Division 3 Only)

Service and Electronic Submission of Civil Appellate Briefs
Rule 8.212(c)(2) requires that one electronic copy of each civil appellate brief must be electronically submitted to the Court of Appeal.  This submission is in addition to the mandatory paper filing of the original and four copies of the brief.  Thus, there is effectively no service of civil appellate briefs on the California Supreme Court.  If any party claims an undue hardship for submitting an electronic copy to the Court of Appeal under Rule 8.212(c)(2)(C), the party may instead serve four paper copies of the brief on the California Supreme Court.
