New Resource Center Created on Criminal Justice Realignment Act

New Law Becomes Operative October 1

SAN FRANCISCO—The Administrative Office of the Courts today announced the launch of a new resource center to help courts, justice partners, and the public understand the key impacts of the 2011 Criminal Justice Realignment Act.

The act takes effect on October 1 and makes significant changes to felony sentencing law and assigns courts a new and significant role in the revocation process for offenders who violate their terms or conditions of post-release supervision, or parole.

The new Criminal Justice Realignment Resource Center can be found on the California Courts website.
