6th Appellate District Announces Destruction of Old Court Records

San Joseā€”The Court of Appeal for the Sixth Appellate District (San Jose) has announced its intention to destroy the following criminal, juvenile, and civil records in accordance with Rule 10.1028(c), California Rules of Court:

  • All criminal and juvenile cases (excluding those with published opinions) designated in records transfer lists 29, 31 and 33 encompassing criminal and juvenile cases preserved for a period longer than 20 years.
  • All civil cases (excluding those with published opinions) designated in records transfer list 80 encompassing civil cases preserved for a period longer than 10 years.

Records transfer lists 29, 31, 33, and 80 are available on the California Courts website.

Anyone who knows of a reason why any of the above cases should be retained, whether for historical or other reasons, should notify Michael J. Yerly, Clerk/Administrator. The reasons for retention should be in writing, should be received by the court by February 3, 2012, and should be addressed to:
