Judge Wachob was reappointed by the chief justice for a one-year, advisory term after serving for three years as a voting member (Sept 2012–Sept 2015). 

Judge Wachob was appointed to the Placer County bench in 2005 and has served as the Assistant Presiding Judge since 2009. Before his judicial appointment, Judge Wachob was a partner in the law firm of Leupp Wachob & Woodall; served as City Attorney for the City of Auburn from 1983-2005; served as counsel to the Placer County Civil Service Commission; and was certified as a specialist in civil trial advocacy by the National Board of Trial Advocates. He served as a member of the Judicial Council's Advisory Committee on Civil Jury Instructions in 2007-2008. In 2010, he was selected as Judge of the Year by the Sacramento Valley Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA). In Apr 2011, the Chief Justice appointed him to the Strategic Evaluation Committee (SEC), charged with conducting a comprehensive review of the Administrative Office of the Courts. In Jan 2012, the Chief Justice appointed him to serve as Chair of the Strategic Evaluation Committee, which completed its report in May 2012. Judge Wachob was appointed to serve a three-year term as an Advisory Member of the Judicial Council, beginning in Sept 2012.
