Civic Learning Highlights

Seniors at High Tech High North County get the opportunity to take part in an internship and project program that provides them with real-world experience in the work environment of their local community. Students work in public schools, a local assembly member’s office, and several community-based internships. Their government and politics class focuses on civil discourse and community engagement through active involvement with school issues and research projects. These opportunities work in tandem with High Tech High’s Humanities class, which focuses on US history and American literature and helps to foster critical thinking skills within the context of historical trends and current community issues.
