Justice Marsha G. Slough was appointed to the bench in 2003 by Governor Gray Davis. She served as the presiding judge of the San Bernardino juvenile court from 2007 to 2010 and as assistant presiding judge of the court before being appointed as presiding judge in 2012. Governor Edmund G. Brown appointed Justice Slough to Division Two of the Fourth District Court of Appeal and was confirmed on February 22, 2016.

Justice Slough has served on many statewide groups: Judicial Council Trial Court Budget Advisory Committee, Technology Committee the Task Force on Trial Court Fiscal Accountability, (vice chair), Judicial Council's Technology Committee (chair), and the Technology Planning Task Force. She currently serves on the Ad Hoc Workgroup on Post-Pandemic Initiatives (chair) and also served on the Commission on the Future of California’s Court System. She has been recognized with awards from many legal organizations, including the San Bernardino County Bar Association, American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA), and the California Probation, Parole & Corrections Association. Justice Slough has served three consecutive terms on the council, beginning in 2014.
