Archival Court Reporter Notes (ACORN) – Orange and San Diego

Overview/Program Description:
The Archival Court Reporter Notes (ACORN) system is an outsourced records archival system supplied by the Imaging Technology Group (ITG) located in Irvine, California. The system allows users to maintain and view court reporter notes while providing an effective method to store and retrieve information. Court reporters upload their notes electronically and users are able to view and provide copies of these notes instantaneously.
Currently 23 courts are utilizing the program and have seen savings in storage cost and an improvement in retrieving court reporter notes.
Program Benefits/Savings:
The ACORN system provides the court and the public an instantaneous method to retrieve court reporter notes. Requests no longer take days to complete and court reporter supervisors are able to pull up notes quickly if the reporter is unavailable. In addition, the integrity of the notes is preserved, storage cost is reduced or eliminated for the courts, and court staff can redirect their attention to assisting the public and judicial bench in an efficient manner.
