Task Force on Language Access to the Courts to Hold First In-Person Meeting

Who: The Language Access Plan Implementation Task Force holds its first in-person meeting on how to implement the recommendations of the Strategic Plan for Language Access in the California Courts, which was adopted by the Judicial Council on January 22, 2015, and provides a consistent statewide approach to ensure language access throughout the courts.

California Supreme Court Justice Mariano-Florentino Cuéllar is chair of the task force, and Ventura County Superior Court Judge Manuel J. Covarrubias serves as vice-chair. Additional task force members include judicial officers, court staff, interpreters, attorneys, and members of the public.

What: The agenda for the task force’s first in-person meeting includes an overview of the subcommittee structure of the group, goals for the upcoming year, and budget issues related to increasing language access in the courts.

When: Wednesday, June 17, 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
