Appointed to the Superior Court of Riverside County in 2005, Judge Harold W. Hopp currently hears complex and other unlimited civil cases, and has previously been assigned to felony criminal cases in addition to CEQA and probate cases. Judge Hopp was the court’s presiding judge for two years. In addition, He has served on many of the court’s internal committees, including its executive committee, Legislative Outreach Committee, and Budget Advisory Committee. He also chairs the court’s Project Advisory Group for the construction of a new family and juvenile courthouse in Indio.

Judge Hopp has been extensively involved in the statewide administration of the court system. He has served on many Judicial Council advisory bodies, including the Trial Court Presiding Judges Advisory Committee, the Civil and Small Claims Advisory Committee, the Civil Jury Instructions Advisory Committee, and the Bench Bar Coalition, which he co-chaired for two years. Before his appointment to the bench, Judge Hopp practiced law in Orange and Riverside counties for 19 years, focusing on civil litigation.
