Date established

as an Advisory Committee to the Judicial Branch. Originally created in 1973 via agreement between the Judicial Council and the California Judges Association. 

Key projects of this advisory body are outlined in the annual agenda

The committee makes recommendations to the council to improve the administration of justice through comprehensive and quality education and training for the state’s judicial officers and court personnel, as required by California Rules of Court, rules 10.45110.493.

Judicial Branch education supports standardized court practices and procedures to promote fair and equal access to the courts for all Californians.

The committee oversees the following 9 curriculum committees that identify educational needs and establish content priorities:
