Statewide Traffic Tickets / Infractions Amnesty Program

The Statewide Traffic Tickets/Infraction Amnesty Program will be effective from October 1, 2015 through March 31, 2017. Amnesty guidelines have been approved by the Judicial Council and should be referenced by court and county collection programs when planning for, and administering, the one-time amnesty program.

The Statewide Traffic Tickets/Infraction Amnesty Program Guidelines are based on Senate Bill 85, which added Vehicle Code section 42008.8 to include specified Vehicle Code misdemeanor violations in addition to Vehicle and non-Vehicle Code Infractions. The following resources are available to assist in the implementation and administration of the amnesty program:

Outreach materials that explain the parameters and eligibility criteria for amnesty have been developed. Consider posting the following tools to your court and county websites:

Amnesty Program Rollout & Informational Sessions

Web-based training sessions for court and county staff, third party vendors, and other stakeholders will be conducted in September in preparation for the statewide program launch on October 1, 2015. The sessions are intended to provide an overview of the program and available resources, an opportunity for administrating entities and program stakeholders to pose questions to subject matter experts, and communicate other relevant updates.

You will receive WebEx and conference line details prior to the sessions, as well as any relevant materials.
